Travel toy serviceable for short-term amusement December 18, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My daughter preferred another portable mobile, by Infantino, with no music but where the strings holding the dangly toys were longer and therefore more fun to bat. I think that was preferred because it had more black and white stripes than this. At about 6 weeks of age, she started liking this more -- perhaps the music was too much for her in the beginning?? -- and now she prefers it, I think because of the music.
She likes grabbing the dragonfly -- that black and white fixation. Note that the wings of the dragonfly and the feet of the frog (intended as a pacifier holder, but used in our family as another add-on to the Gymini, also by Tiny Love) make crinkly sounds when rubbed between baby's little fingers.
The musical component of this is an old-fashioned music box sound, which I prefer to some of the more electronic (tinny) options out there. However, this particular tune ("How Much Is the Doggie in the Mirror") can get on a mama's nerves.
I wear this as a bracelet and hang it over her face to amuse her, but it is a bit heavy after a while. However, it is small enough to take along in the diaper bag.
Recommended if you are looking for a travel toy for short term amusment, except for very newborns.
wonderful!!!!! December 17, 2007 This has saved me on more car trips than I can remember, it works everytime and as my son gets older he seems to enjoy it even more. I don't leave home without it.
Love the froggie pacifier holder. November 24, 2007 The mobile was not that great because you have to constantly wind it for it to play and spin. Also, the part where you manually spin for the mobile to play broke the second day. Needless to say, I wasn't too happy about that. But, I am still using the froggie pacifier holder. I love that! It's so cute and it's hands are crinkly which my baby loves. Overall, there are better car seat mobiles out there. Some of which Tiny Love makes. I recommend buying a non-manual mobile.
Great Entertainment September 15, 2007 My son loved this mobile when he was a baby. We would hang it on his baby gym and then move it to the car seat when we were on the go. He would laugh and smile and coo at it, and it had the power to stop his crying as soon as we wound it up. When I got pregnant again a few years later, this was the very first thing I bought, since the original one had been passed off to family.
didn't create miracles but it is OK July 30, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this mobile for my 5-month old baby's car seat. It did not create miracles for us, she just likes catching and grasping the flying bugs while screaming in the car. Storage mate, which adjusts to the car seat perfectly, is very practical to keep the pacifier clean; it also functions as a colorful object to be grasped vigorously if the pacifier is attached. I don't think my baby enjoys the music very much, but I do. By the way, you have to wind it. Mounting strap (of the mobile) is sturdy but it has some adjustment problems, at least for our car seat, which is Graco. Besides, rough strips of Velcro has picked up some threads in the strap recently. Overall, it is a good product despite some minor problems and sometimes it works for my baby.
