Artful, Soothing and Educational With its illuminating shell and pretty, artful design, the Twilight Ladybug complements any nursery or child's room. Both plush and soft and built to last, this nightlight is best placed on the floor in the center of the room, where it projects a starry night sky onto the ceiling and walls. For interactive fun, parents can also sit with their children and identify and describe the features of seven major constellations, including the Big Dipper and Pegasus, with the help of the beautifully illustrated Star Guide. The Twilight Ladybug also includes a sweet and charming story about how Twilight Ladybug, separated from his father, uses the constellations to find his way home. User-Friendly Operation Simply pressing the button on the ladybug's wings ignites the stars and keeps them glowing for a full 45 minutes--just enough time for most children to drift into sleep. At this point, the Twilight Ladybug automatically shuts off to preserve battery life. Another push of the button reactivates the projection. In addition, the easy selection of the three soothing color choices allow your child not only to learn to identify different colors, but also to truly experience them as well. Ruby red offers a rich, warm feeling; sapphire blue is peaceful; and emerald green inspires feelings of harmony and renewal. The warm glow the Twilight Ladybug emits also serves as a nightlight that makes the darkness less frightening. Makes a Great Gift A great gift for children who are afraid of the dark, or even adults who have trouble falling asleep, the Twilight Ladybug runs on three "AAA" batteries (included). It also comes with a certificate of adoption, and measures a compact 14.0 x 5.0 inches (WxH), so it's easy to display and store. | Pressing the button on the ladybug's wings illuminates the stars and keeps them glowing for 45 minutes -- just enough time for drifting off to sleep -- before automatically shutting off to preserve battery life. The Twilight Ladybug offers a choice of three soothing colors in hues that are known for their ability to encourage relaxation: ruby red promotes warmth; sapphire blue for peace and sleep; and emerald green, known for harmony and renewal. Of the three, there is certain to be one that complements the color scheme of baby's room. From where she is stationed, the ladybug emits a warm glow in the color of choice, doubling as a comforting nightlight. | | The adorable ladybug comes with a story book and constellation guide. | In addition to its calming effect, Twilight Ladybug also features an educational component. Among the clusters of stars sprinkled across the ceiling are eight recognizable constellations. The accompanying guide tells the warm-hearted story about how Twilight Ladybug got separated from her father and used the constellations to find her way home, which is a sweet way to introduce the constellations and encourage kids to learn their locations. An included booklet maps out which area of Twilight Ladybug's shell the constellations are projected from, so stargazers will know where to look for them on the ceiling. The booklet also gives a brief explanation of each constellation and its most notable features. In the center of the sky is Orion the hunter, most easily recognizable by the three stars that make up his belt. At the 11:00 position, both Draco the dragon and The Little Dipper can be spotted. The Little Dipper is more visible because the North Star, Polaris, highlights the end of its handle. The North Star used to be positioned within Draco but movement in the skies shifted it over to The Little Dipper over time. In the upper right side of the sky (and the ladybug's wings), is Canis Major (The Greater Dog), which hosts the brightest star in the sky, Sirius, at a point in the dog's neck. Right next to Canis Major is Cepheus, a little house with a pointed roof. In the lower right quadrant of the sky, Pegasus -- the winged horse -- is visible. He is easiest to find by locating the square that makes up the center of his body first. On the south side of the sky (between 6 and 7:00), viewers can see two stick figure people. These are Gemini, the twins. And, finally, the best known constellation -- The Big Dipper -- can be found at 9:00. This is really two constellations in one as The Big Dipper makes up the tail end of the constellation Ursa Major, the Big Bear. A unique product, the Twilight Ladybug makes a thoughtful and creative baby gift to help infants or overtired moms grab a few hours of sleep. At only 14 inches long and 5 inches high, this interactive nightlight puts a lot of punch in a small package and is surprisingly easy to work. Each ladybug comes with its own certificate of adoption and runs on three AAA batteries, which are included.

Resolve the ONE problem this way. December 1, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Placement is the issue. The solution is to hang the turtle from fishing string or another fine, strong string and use the turtle like a mobile. The images are perfect, and center room placement is no longer a problem.
Great for sleeping problems November 29, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
BOught this for my four year old grandson that was waking up all hours of the night with nightmares. After the first few days, he now sleeps with 'twilight' turned on reflecting stars and moon shapes. Needless to say he now sleeps comfortably all through the night. The toy is designed fairly well and is an excellent value for the cost.
Turtle night light November 29, 2008 I purchased this for my two year old grandson. He loves it and my daughter-in-law reports that it has made bed time a lot easier. His five year old brother loves it also. They now sleep together so they can share the night light. Before they had the night light, the two year old was screaming and crying at bed time. Cheap and beautiful star "projector" November 27, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It puts stars and moons on your ceiling, in blue and/or green light. The plush turtle is cute and durable. The hard-plastic shell has pictures of sea life controlled by their own light switch, and they can be cycled on and off. It comes with batteries and works immediately out of the box. It turns off automatically after 30 minutes. The "projection" span is about 15 feet long and 5-6 wide when the turtle sits about 8 feet from the ceiling. And...
...it costs $25!!
What more can you possibly ask for? If you want an actual planetarium, you should obviously buy a star projector (and the few good ones that exist are quite expensive). But for a young child's bedroom, or for yours if all you want is a sweet night light, this is perfect.
